The 53rd IDACON (2020) – Dietetics in the Digital Era- Opportunities and Challenges (21st November 2020 – 10th January 2021)
“There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things.” -  Niccolo Machiavelli

IDACON – The Annual National Conference of the Indian Dietetic Association (IDA) – an event hugely awaited every year for by the Dietetic fraternity in the country for its delivery of highly impactful scientific deliberations, its emphasis on the current research and very importantly the joy of congregating as a fraternity.
This year given the challenges of the Pandemic, the IDACON 2020 was in jeopardy of becoming a non-event. Events were being cancelled across the globe or being downscaled in lieu of the economy and the prevailing conditions
The Thought Transformation: The National Executive Committee deliberated on the possibilities and decided on a road of thought transformation – The taller the mountain, the harder we climb. On this note, the IDA decided to take on the challenge of hosting a virtual conference. When the world was downscaling, we decided to upscale. The 53rd IDACON was converted from National to an International conference.  The usual 3-day conference was turned into a virtual academic feast spread generously over 28 days with a national and global reach of more than 10,000 delegates.
