The Dutch Association of Dietitians (NVD) is the professional and advocacy association for the Dutch dietitian. The NVD, established in 1941, serves more than 2.800 members. Approximately 80 percent of all working dietitians are member of the NVD. The Association aims to promote dietitians as the experts on nutrition and behavior in relation to illness and health.
The NVD aims to advance the profession of dietetics by improving the quality of the service given by the dietitian, promoting the expertise of the dietitian and the profession of dietetics, maintaining contact with other parties such as healthcare providers, health insurance companies, government, patient and consumer organizations, press and informing its members.

De Nederlandse Vereniging van Diëtisten is de beroeps- en belangenvereniging van de Nederlandse diëtist. De NVD is in 1941 opgericht en telt momenteel ruim 2.800 leden. Van alle werkzame diëtisten is circa 80 procent bij de NVD aangesloten. De NVD stelt zich tot doel om de diëtist te positioneren en te profileren als dé specialist op het gebied van voeding en gedrag in relatie tot ziekte en gezondheid.
De NVD houdt zich onder andere bezig met het verbeteren van de kwaliteit van de dienstverlening door de diëtist, het bevorderen van de deskundigheid van de diëtist, de promotie van het beroep diëtist, het voeren van overleg met derden zoals zorgaanbieders, zorgverzekeraars, overheid en patiënten- en consumentenorganisaties en het onderhouden van contacten met de pers en het verstrekken van informatie aan de leden.
