    Giuseppe Russolillo

    He is a dietitian-nutritionist, with credentials from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Navarra, a European Masters degree in Nutrition and Metabolism and a doctorate from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Navarra.
    Giuseppe is the President of La Academia Española de Nutrición y Dietética (Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics AEND) which has as a primary mission the promotion the Science of Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
    Education has always been an important part of Giuseppe’s career; he has taught university degree courses as well as postgraduate and masters students. Equally important has been educating the public about nutrition through conferences, briefings and information sessions.
    Working from a vision based in nutrition evidence, Giuseppe’s main goal has focused on feeding healthy and sick people alike, with special attention to the management, coordination and leadership of teams delivering nutrition services. These include:

    • Design and delivery of food education projects for the public
    • Expert advice for individuals, companies and institutions interested in food and cooking
    • Health marketing advice to individuals and companies in the catering and food & pharmaceutical sectors  
    • Media spokesperson, offering expert scientific opinions, interviews and informative reports.

    Giuseppe’s numerous volunteer activities underscores his dedication to the promotion and advancement of the profession of dietitian: his role in creating the first professional college of dietitians-nutritionists in Spain (Official College of Dietitians-Nutritionists of Navarra), his leadership of dietitians-nutritionists in Spain during his 8-year term as president of the Spanish Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics [previously known as the Spanish Association of Dietitians-Nutritionists), serving on the Board of the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations (ICDA) from 2008 to the present, and his current role as performance secretary on the Board of Iberoamerican Alliance of Nutritionists (AIBAN). Most recently Giuseppe was Chair of the XVII International Congress of Dietetics ICD held in Granada in September 2016.
