Q: Who can join ICDA?
Individual dietitians from all parts of the world are invited to use this web site to chat with dietitians around the world, to receive our newsletter Dietetics Around the World written by national dietetic associations, and to receive information about the International Congress of Dietetics. Dietitians register now!

Members of the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations are national dietetic associations. Only one national dietetic association from each country is approved for membership. See current national dietetic association members to learn if your country has an ICDA member, and if it does not then see Membership criteria to learn more about the application process.

Q: Can we be considered as a site for the International Congress of Dietetics?
The International Confederation of Dietetic Associations hosts an International Congress of Dietetics every four years at a place chosen by Member national dietetic associations.

Twelve months prior to the Annual Meeting held in conjunction with the Congress, Members are to provide a signed offer to host the International Congress of Dietetics that will be held approximately eight years after the Annual Meeting where the decision is made.

Voting for the host Member(s) will take place at the Annual Meeting held in conjunction with the Congress.

The Host Member association offers to take full financial and management responsibility as host for the event. To discuss making a bid for the Congress contact the national dietetic association Member in your country. The form to be submitted to ICDA is found on this web site at www.internationaldietetics.org/hostingacongress.asp.

Q: Where has the International Congress of Dietetics been held, how many attended?
The International Confederation of Dietetic Associations hosts an International Congress of Dietetics every four years and you can see where the Congress has been held and how many participants attended on the ICD Archive page.

Q: Who can attend the International Congress of Dietetics?
The Congress is an important piece of an integrated communications system amongst and for persons interested in food, agriculture, nutrition and health and development of the profession of dietetics, including health professionals, researchers, policy makers, and educators across sectors such as health care, government, industry, and media. Q: Can we put information in your newsletter Dietetics Around the World?
Dietetics Around the World is an important piece of our integrated communications system. The Newsletter includes relevant information from international organizations of benefit to Member associations and dietitians around the world. Ask our Editor about a potential submission using Contact Us and by selecting ICDA Newsletter contact list on the submission form.

Q: Do you provide international awards, scholarships or exchange programs?
ICDA does not offer international awards, scholarships or exchange programs but some national dietetic association Members offer them. To learn more about these offerings search Dietetics Around the World using the Articles by Category list.

Q: How can I join a national dietetic association that is a member of ICDA?
National dietetic associations each have their own criteria for membership. Contact the national dietetic association in your country to learn about the membership qualifications.

If you are a dietetic professional in a country that does not have a national association for dietetic professionals (dietitians, nutritionists, etc) you may register here to network with dietetic colleagues around the world.

Q: How do I become a dietitian?
National associations for dietetics, food and nutrition professionals each have their own criteria for membership. Contact the national dietetic association in your country to learn about membership qualifications.
