1967 International Classification and spelling of dietitian confirmed by the International Labour Office in Geneva
At the 1961 meeting, the delegate from the Dietetic Association of Sweden brought to the attention of the official delegates the need to work with the International Standard Classification of Occupations, International Labour Office, Geneva to change the classification of "dietitian" in the International Standard. At the IV I.C.D. in Stockholm, delegates voted that the Chairman request reclassification of dietitians by the International Labour Office in Geneva and that "dietitian" be spelled with a "t" instead of a "c".
In July 1967, the Director General notified the Chairman of the International Committee of Dietetic Associations that the International Labour Office had adopted the spelling "dietitian" and that dietitians had been adopted for inclusion in the revised International Standard Classification Of Occupations Unit Group 0.69 Dietitians.

Workers in this unit group plan and supervise the preparation of diets for individuals or groups, supervise and evaluate nutrition elements of health programs and assist in appraising the various factors related to nutrition and food problems in the community.
Functions include: Planning and supervising the preparation of therapeutic or other diets for individuals or for groups in hospitals, institutions, and other establishments and for workers in particular sectors; participating in programs of nutrition education and in nutrition rehabilitation activities; planning and coordinating nutrition programs and advising on nutrition aspects of community food problems and health programs.
0.69.10 Dietitian (General) Plans and supervises the preparation of therapeutic or other diets for individuals or groups in hospitals, institutions and other establishments and for workers in particular sectors; gives instruction in selection and proper preparation of food according to dietetic principles; performs duties related to nutrition programs. May be responsible for food purchasing on behalf of an organization or establishment.
0.69.20 Public Health Nutritionist Appraises various factors related to nutrition and food problems in the community and plans and executes nutrition elements of health programs.
Functions include: Investigates various factors related to nutrition and food problems in the community and plans and executes nutrition elements of health programs; participates in program of nutrition education and in nutrition rehabilitation activities for particular groups or the community.
0.69.90 Other Dietitians and Public Health Nutritionists This group includes dietitians and public health nutritionists not elsewhere classified, for example, those acting as consultants to food processing and distributing firms or to manufactures of food-processing equipment.
