Carole Middleton

Carole is Dietetic Services Manager for Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust, a group of 4 teaching hospitals providing a service for Oxfordshire. She manages a department of more than 40 Clinical Dietitians and is also responsible for the training of Dietetic students. Her own clinical expertise is in liver disease, critical care and bariatric surgery.
Carole has had a long involvement with the British Dietetic Association, holding many positions, including Honorary Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer and sitting on a wide range of committees. As Chairman, she represented the BDA on the Department of Health Nutrition Task Force. She is currently the BDA representative on the European Federation of Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) and has recently become the BDA representative on the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations and one of the Directors of ICDA. She has contributed to the production of the EFAD report " Education Programmes and Work of Dietitians in the Member States of EFAD" and is currently on a working group looking at developing a European Dietetic Benchmark Statement. She is also a member of the Associations Ethical and Professional Advisory Panel. Carole became a Fellow of the British Dietetic Association in 1993.
In 1997 Carole received the honour of becoming a Member of the British Empire, in the Queen's Birthday Honours list, for services to Dietetics.
