Six months prior to each annual general meeting of Members association at which directors are required to be elected, the organization shall invite Members in good standing to submit nominations for positions on the Board of Directors. The Secretary shall advise on Board positions that are to be filled by elections and provide the eligibility criteria. Voting by ballot will take place at the Members' Meeting held during the Congress in advance of the Annual Meeting. Appointed Tellers shall report results at the Annual Meeting held during the Congress. Those declared elected in the Tellers Report shall take office at the end of the meeting.
The Chair of the Board of Directors is one of the two officers of the organization. At a meeting immediately following the International Congress of Dietetics, the Board of Directors elects the Chair of the Board of Directors from amongst the Directors.The term of office for the Chair is two years, and the Chair may be reappointed for a total of four terms.
The Secretary is one of the two officers of ICDA and is the Official Representative of the Member association that is serving as the Secretariat. The term of office for the Secretary is two years and the Secretary may be reappointed for a total of 8 terms.
