Dietitians NZ (formerly New Zealand Dietetic Association, NZDA) is the professional association for registered dietitians and associated nutrition professionals. With a membership of approximately 550, Dietitians NZ represents the largest group of fully trained food and nutrition professionals in New Zealand. The positioning of the association is to facilitate dietitians to be valued professionals, contributing positively to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders. The objectives of the association are to promote and advance the knowledge of nutrition and dietetics in NZ and internationally; to give meaning to Treaty of Waitangi; to raise the standard of dietetic practice, to support and protect the professional status and interest of practitioners; to form strategic alliances/ partnerships to advance nutrition and dietetics; to promote professional development, leadership and evidence based research; to recognize excellence and to advocate for consumers to enjoy a safe, nutritious, culturally appropriate, sustainable and affordable food supply.
