The Association is the main Body of Dietitians in France, acting on behalf and in the interests of its members and the profession. AFDN collaborates with relevant governmental and non governmental organisations. It promotes evidence based practice, professional development and lifelong learning for dietitians. Furthermore, it encourages dietitians to participate in research in the field of nutrition and dietetics.AFDN collaborates with high education institutes and authorities to improve dietetics education programs. AFDN set up actions in public health (with authorities, national organizations) to promote quality food for populations, communicates on nutritional recommendations and on European and international works of dietitians.

L'association est le principal organisme représentant les diététiciens en France, agissant au nom et dans l'intérêt de ses membres et de la profession. Elle collabore avec les organisations gouvernementales et non gouvernementales appropriées. Elle promeut les pratiques professionnelles validées, le développement professionnel et la formation tout au long de la vie pour les diététiciens. De plus, elle encourage les diététiciens à participer à la recherche dans le domaine de la nutrition et de la diététique. L’AFDN collabore avec les établissements d’enseignement supérieur et les ministères pour améliorer les programmes de formation. L’AFDN met en place des actions de santé publique (avec les instances gouvernementales, les organismes nationaux) pour promouvoir une alimentation de qualité auprès des populations. Elle transmet des recommandations nutritionnelles et diffuse les travaux européens et internationaux de diététiciens.
