Hosting a Congress
  • The International Congress of Dietetics is a unique opportunity for Dietitians and Nutritionists to share knowledge and to learn with colleagues from around the world.

    Official Representatives of ICDA Member national dietetics associations decide where each Congress will be held.  The decision is made eight years in advance.  
     

    WHO is eligible to host the International Congress of Dietetics?


    National dietetics association Members of ICDA are eligible to host the International Congress of Dietetics. 

    Representatives of convention facilities interested in being considered are to contact the ICDA Representative of the national dietetics association of the country.  For contact information select the country on the NDAs page .

    WHEN is an offer to host a Congress due?


    Twelve months prior to each International Congress of Dietetics, ICDA Member national dietetics associations interested in hosting a future Congress are to provide a signed Offer to Host the International Congress of Dietetics for the Congress that will be held approximately eight years later.  

    Offer to host the XVIII ICD (2020) due August 2011.


    HOW to make an offer to host a Congress?


    Member association submits a signed Offer to Host the International Congress of Dietetics.  The ICDA Member proposes the city, venue and dates for the Congress.

    Each Member association that has submitted on Offer to Host ICD is invited to make a short presentation prior to the vote at a Members' Meeting held during a Congress, eight years in advance.  Further details will be provided by the ICDA Secretariat well in advance of the presentation date.

    Results of the vote will be announced at the Representatives meeting.
