The ICDA Board has recently welcomed the Asociación Argentina de Dietistas y Nutricionistas Dietistas (AADYND), the national dietetic association in Argentina, as a member of ICDA.
Nearly 500 poster and presentation topics, over 60 workshops and 40 symposia were received in response to the ICD 2012 call for abstracts.
The International Confederation of Dietetic Associations has a history that began in 1952 with the first International Congress of Dietetics in Amsterdam. In 2000, at the XIII International Congress of Dietetics, delegates of national dietetics associations adopted a new name and a Mission for the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations. In 2006 the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations was incorporated in Canada. Today, the Members are about 41 national dietetics associations and together represent well over 160,000 Dietitians. Appointed Representatives of Member associations are the highest authority in ICDA, and an elected Board of Directors is responsible for management of the association.
